Combo Classes

Students are taught the foundations of Tap, Jazz and R.A.D Ballet within a 1 or 1.5hr class, depending on age. Moving through the three styles in one class keeps the students attentive and allows them to find a style they favour for later years of dance.

Combo classes that are available at The Dance Hub include:

Pre School Kombo: (4-5yo) - 1hr class

Kindy Kombo: Kindergarten (5-6yo)- 1hr class

Pre Junior Jivers: years 1-2 (6-7yo)- 1.5hr class

Tap

Tap is a style of dance well known for percussive footwork, by creating rhythmic floor patterns. Tap dancing is great for kids who love to make noise, and helps to develop an association with music beats and movements in sync! It is a great style to improve co-ordination, which can then be used across other styles of dance.

Jazz

Taking some techniques from classical ballet, Jazz is a combination of dance styles made popular around the world in Musical Theatre, film clips and commercials. With a technique based lesson, students will learn to leap, turn, jump and pirouette to the latest music. With a mixture of Broadway Jazz, Commercial Jazz, and Jazz Funk, this is a great style for students across all ages and abilities.

Lyrical

The perfect mix of ballet technique and free movement, Lyrical is a chance for the students to associate feelings with movement.

The classes begin with R.A.D Ballet exercises and a big stretch to improve flexibility and technique. Students will learn graceful routines to emotionally charged music, in order to master expression through fluid movements.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a freer style of dance that encourages students to create their own funky flair. Techniques taught include Popping, Locking and Break dancing along with classics like moonwalking made famous by Michael Jackson.

Classes begin with a warm up, including isolations and funky steps down the room, followed by learning new Hip Hop techniques each week. All classes end with a fun routine to the latest tracks on the radio.
